Proposal

This page lists first proposals for Query/Retrieve in Radiation Oncology Profile. Based on the information collected here and the discussion within the IHE-RO TC a Use Case shall be drafted on the official ihe.net wiki. Based on this, development of a profile may start then.

Clinical Use Cases

  1. Basic archive (PACS, R&V) access for pre-planning/planning/planning verification/…
  2. Access e.g. specific plans or treatment records via specific attributes without retrieving all of the instances and looking through them on the client side
  3. Faster transfer of big data sets (which start to get bigger by adding e.g. registrations, presentation states, …)

Technical Challenges

Start easy, add levels of complexity:

Basic Q/R

Define attributes for query on

  • study,
  • series and
  • instance level

See RAD profile (transaction RAD-14) for that.

C-MOVE from remote to local, but also (optionally) C-MOVE from remote to remote.

Define/test how matching should work
  • A search for patient ID “1” should not return a patient with ID 123. A search with “1*” however should return Patient ID 123.

Define set of instance level query attributes for 1st Gen RT objects.
